17 Jan’04: Our staff will deliver 2 air tickets SGN-BKK to you at 06:30 A.M. at row 1, terminal 1, Thai Airways counter, Don Muong Airport (In any urgent case about the ticket, please call Mr. Sanguan at handphone: 017 770 978 or Ms. Kanjana at handphone:098 954 039)

Your flight BKK-SGN is TG 680 / 08:45-10:20. Welcome you at Tan Son Nhat international airport on arrival in Ho Chi Minh city and transfer to Renaissance Riverside hotel (booked by your selves). Free on your own.

18 & 19 Jan’04: Your own activities.

 

DAY 1 (20 JAN ’04): HOCHIMINH CITY (D)

In the morning, you are free to walk or take a pedicab around the downtown, to find out the location where you used to work at, the "police café", or drinking a cup of coffee at a pavement shop overlooking at Saigon Port (you can either request the tour guide and the car or go by yourselves). In the afternoon, we go around the city center to view some typical buildings with French constructive style: North Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, City Hall. Then we visit market Ben Thanh Market, An Dong Market, etc. Welcome dinner on Ben Nghe floating restaurant which cruises along Saigon river to see HCMC’s seaport. Night in HCMC.

DAY 2 (21 JAN’04): HOCHIMINH CITY (B, L, D)

Today you spend whole day to visit the Historical Museum, Ngoc Hoang Pagoda (combine Confucianism and Taoism), Hindu Temple, Giac Lam Pagoda. After lunch, you are free to find out your memory of the past time, beginning from Tran Hung Dao Statue at Bach Dang Port, to Nha Rong Port, Hochiminh Museum. Then down Tran Hung Dao Street to China town, Thien Hau Temple, Cho Lon Market, looking for your Vietnam first home, and return to Phu Nhuan to look for your second home. Dinner at Banh Xeo Dinh Cong Trang or Banh Xeo A Phu, famous food of Southern people. Night in HCMC.

DAY 3 (22 JAN’04): MY THO (MEKONG DELTA) (B, L, D)

Today we drive to visit My Tho town belonging to Tien Giang Province, one of 12 fertile provinces in the Mekong Delta. Take a boat trip on Tien Giang River - a great branch of the immense Mekong River to visit farmer’s houses and fruit gardens. Experience a boat rowing on small canals and riding horse-cart along village-path. Enjoy Mekong Delta’s specialties for lunch at Trung Luong restaurant. Then we visit Vinh Trang pagoda, an ancient pagoda from 19th Century. Drive back to HCMC. Stopover to visit a Cao Dai Temple in Long An before get to Hochiminh City. Enjoy Vietnamese Traditional Music at dinner. Night in HCMC.

DAY 4 (23 JAN’04): HO CHI MINH CITY - DA NANG - HOI AN (B, L, D)

Transfer to Tan Son Nhat airport for early morning flight to Danang VN 320 / 06:00 – 07:10. Upon arrival, we visit Cham Museum to see the stone collection of the Champa kingdom’s history and culture. Transfer to Hoi An ancient town – The most bustling international port at the end of 17th century. It is well-reserved until now and is a UNESCO world heritage. On the way we stop to visit Marble Mountains, and bathing at Non Nuoc (China) Beach. In Hoian, we take a cyclo tour around the ancient to see Phuc Kien Chinese Temple, Tan Ky old house which its constructive style had been mixed of Vietnam, China and Japan. Visit Chua Cau with a small pagoda built on a bridge. Overnight at Victoria Hoian Resort (Deluxe Seaview).

DAY 5 (24 JAN’04): HOI AN - MY SON - HUE (B, L, D)

Transfer to My Son Holly Land to admire and study the ruins of Splendid Champa Civilization, is now being the World’s cultural Heritage. After lunch drive to Hue Old Capital, another Cultural Heritage of the World. To reach Hue, we need to drive up and down the meandering road of 30 km-long Hai Van mountain pass with such striking views of sea, mountains and clouds. Perhaps this is the most beautiful part of Vietnam mainland. After dinner enjoy Hue traditional music program on boat along Perfume poetic River. Overnight in Hue at Saigon Morin hotel (Deluxe Riverview).

DAY 6 (25 JAN’04): HUE (B, L, D)

Boat trip on Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Royal Pagoda and Minh Mang King Mausoleum, then Hon Chen Temple. We see the way local people produces the conical hat and bronze-casting articles when our boat stops on a small village at the river bank. In the afternoon, we see Imperial Citadel of the 143 year Nguyen Dynasty, King Khai Dinh Mausoleum, Tu Hieu pagoda. Overnight in Hue at Saigon Morin hotel (Deluxe Riverview).

Day 7 (26 JAn’04): HUE – DONG HOI – PHONG NHA CAVE (B, L, D)

Drive to Dong Hoi (180 km). On the way visit Hien Luong Bridge, Ben Hai River at 17th parallel. After lunch, we visit Phong Nha Cave, 40 km to the west of Dong Hoi town. This is a newly discovered caves on the longest underground river in Vietnam (and perhaps in the world). Overnight in Dong Hoi at Cosevco Nhat Le hotel (Riverview).

Day 8 (27 JAn’04): DONG HOI – VINH (B, L, D)

We visit beaches in Quang Binh, then drive along the coastal highway to Vinh (200 km). Explore Cua Lo Beach. Dinner and overnight at Kim Lien hotel (Suite) in Vinh.

Day 9(28 Jan’04): VINH – HANOI (B, L, D)

We drive to Hanoi (300 km). On the way stop at the places such as Dien Chau, Thanh Hoa (Chau Khe) to find some coastal defense batteries during the American war. (If the time permit, we go to Nam Dinh to visit Tran Temple. General Tran Hung Dao was born at Tuc Mac Village, Loc Vuong Hamlet, now belong to Nam Dinh City. There is a Tran Temple at Tuc Mac Village where worship Tran Family including Tran Hung Dao. Or there is a Temple named Bao Loc Tran Temple right in Nam Dinh City, worshiping General Tran Hung Dao). Arrive in Hanoi late afternoon. Dinner. Overnight at Hanoi Melia hotel (Deluxe) in Hanoi.

DAY 10 (29 Jan’04): HANOI (B, L, -)

Today you have an easy day to admire the peaceful capital decorated by tree lines along streets. Visit the Van Mieu Temple (Temple of Literature – The first university of Vietnam built in 11th century. Visit Quan Thanh Pagoda. Cyclo tour around the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake to view the most exciting part of Hanoi. Continue to go down Tran Hung Dao Street to Cotevina Stamp Company. In the evening, free to take Mr. Nguyen Ha Giang, Director of Cotevina, to dinner if he would like. Night at Hanoi Melia hotel (Deluxe) in Hanoi.

DAY 11 (30 JAN’04): HANOI - HA LONG (B, L, D)

We drive to Halong Bay (170 km) in the morning, through the striking scenery of Red River’s Delta, a great rice basket in Vietnam. Full afternoon you are on your own to stroll along Bai Chay Beach, relax, look for sea-shells. You are in the wonderful space with the feeling that you are a tiny part of the nature and are getting in touch with the sea, the cloud and the mountain. Overnight at Mithrin hotel (Deluxe Bayview) in Halong city.

DAY 12 (31 JAN’04): HA LONG - HANOI (B, L, D)

Early morning we view the sunrise at the immense bay of Halong – one of the famous World’s Heritage. Do a tour by boat on the bay to admire the beautiful islands with the extraordinary shapes evoking all kinds of animal: fighting cork, turtle, toad, monkey…. We stop to visit the most beautiful Dau Go caves in the center of an island. Lunch on the boat with fresh seafood. On the way back to Hanoi, we turn to Sao Do town to visit Kiep Bac Temple to commemorate General Tran Hung Dao. This is the place where he lived and worked in the end of 13th century. Tran Hung Dao is the only man in Vietnam whom sculpted statues and worshiped when alive, due to his outstanding talent and virtue. Dinner with Hanoi specialties (Cha Ca La Vong or Banh Tom Ho Tay). Night at Hanoi Melia hotel (Deluxe) in Hanoi.

DAY 13 (1 FEB’04): HANOI - DEPARTURE (B)
Free day at leisure to prepare the luggage for your departure. Today you have late check out. 18:00 the guide and car pick you to go around Hanoi Old Quarter for shopping (perhaps to buy some Ca Cuong), and have dinner. 22:00 transfer to airport for departure by flight KE 684 / 01:10.
